Hemant Soren to Return as Jharkhand Chief Minister
Champai Soren Resigns, Development Work Emphasized
Ranchi, 04 July 2024, 01:26 AM IST: Hemant Soren, executive president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party, is set to return as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. This follows the resignation of Champai Soren, who held the position until Wednesday.
During his oath-taking ceremony, Hemant Soren pledged to accelerate development work in the state. "Jharkhand rukega nahin aur Jharkhand jhukega," he said, meaning that Jharkhand will not stop and Jharkhand will not bow.
Hemant Soren's appointment as Chief Minister comes amidst allegations of corruption. However, he has denied these allegations and has pledged to work with integrity and transparency.
The swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren is scheduled to take place later today. He will be the second JMM leader to hold the position of Chief Minister, after his father, Shibu Soren.
