Lexi Thompson is retiring from full-time professional golf at just 29 years old. Thompson, who made her LPGA debut at age 12, was the youngest golfer ever to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open.
11 Career Wins
Thompson has had a successful career on the LPGA Tour, with 11 wins. She is a two-time major champion, winning the LPGA Championship in 2014 and the ANA Inspiration in 2017. Thompson has also represented the United States on the Solheim Cup team six times.
18th U.S. Women's Open
Thompson's retirement comes just weeks before she was set to compete in her 18th U.S. Women's Open. Thompson has finished in the top 10 in the U.S. Women's Open six times, including a tie for second in 2014.
