Ohio State Quarterback 2022: CJ Stroud Leads Buckeyes into New Season
Stroud Enters Second Year as Starter
CJ Stroud, a redshirt sophomore, will lead the Ohio State Buckeyes into the 2022 season as their starting quarterback. Stroud took over the starting role midway through the 2021 season and quickly established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
In 12 games last season, Stroud threw for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He also rushed for 10 touchdowns. Stroud's performance helped lead the Buckeyes to a 11-2 record and a berth in the Rose Bowl.
High Expectations for Stroud and Buckeyes
Stroud and the Buckeyes have high expectations for the 2022 season. Ohio State is ranked No. 2 in the preseason AP Poll and is considered a favorite to win the College Football Playoff.
Stroud will be surrounded by a talented group of skill players, including wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. and running back TreVeyon Henderson. The Buckeyes also have a strong offensive line, led by All-American tackle Paris Johnson Jr.
Stroud Faces Tough Competition
Stroud will face some tough competition in the Big Ten this season. Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin all have experienced quarterbacks and talented offenses.
However, Stroud is confident in his abilities and the Buckeyes' chances of success. He said, "I think we have a really good team. We have a lot of talent, and we're all working hard to get better."
